day 17: limogne-en-quercy to bach

…plus an extra 3 km because I was actually leaving from Mas de Games. Fortunately there was a bakery in Limogne and I was able to get some breakfast. It was also a short day – normally this segment of the trail goes from Limogne to Mas-de-Vers, which is 21 km (13 miles), but I was staying at a B&B in Bach – and I checked before leaving this time! So it was only a 12 km (7.5 mile) walk.

A couple of times I have passed these interesting interactive multimedia art pieces on the trail: you wind the crank about 40 times and then music plays for a few second, amplified through the metal horn. A lot of work for such a short piece, but pretty cool!

The couple who ran the B&B in Bach told me I was their last walker for the season – and their last guest, as they were planning to sell. I had the whole house to myself, and dinner was a 5-course meal eaten with the hosts. Their elderly dog decided I was her new best friend.

In other news… as the sign says above, it’s been 323 km (200 miles) since I left Le-Puy-en-Velay!
